Throughout America’s history of women/gender suppression, women have fallen under many stereotypical definitions. The most recognizable stereotype for women in this country is that of the Barbie Doll. In using Barbie, I can express the psychological suppression of women by society, religion, and the media in order to raise massive social awareness to these issues surrounding women that are still omnipresent today. My Barbie Art has been created through soul shaping life experiences and the birthing of my life’s purpose as an advocate for social awareness of women’s issues in America that are the result of the media and mass advertising.
